Great idea, you’ve got my vote. Canada has had privatized rest areas along their route 401 for years. I know it for a fact, because I’ve used them. Driving for a long time, it was nice to take a break, stretch your legs, have a cup of coffee, etc. It’s about time we did something similar here in Maine. Maine touts itself as being tourist friendly, however we’re devoid of any signs that would direct them to their destination. Plus we subject them endless monotonous driving without a rest stop in sight. Privatizing rest areas along I-95 would add extra revenue the state of Maine desperately needs.
