Some elected officials in congress and the senate get paid over $175,000 and most of them over $100,000 and that doesnt seem right.Its like the owner of a company paying his employees double what he makes! elected officials should get paid the same amount of money as the average person in their state. All of the raises they voted to give themselves automatically will be allowed to continue but it will be caped at no more than $10-$15000 more than their states average. the government is supposed to be of the people for the people and by the people, and since we the people dont get paid that much neither should they. they should have to same job standards as us, no vacations until everything you worked on that week is finished and if u don’t show up to work u wont get paid.

I was really bothered to read the articile that so many people from Maine are receiving methadone treatments paid for by the state. That said I'm glad there will be a 2 year life time max for being able to receive this treatment. I think a similar life time max should be set into place for unemployment and other various state benefits. Unemployment was meant for the person who lost their job, not seasonal workers looking for vacation pay. I know plenty of hard working people who can't afford a vacation yet I know many families collecting unemployment taking multiple tropical vacations a winter. If you can take vacations like that you shouldn't collecting. There is no incentive to get off state benefits!!!

There are many 'able' adults who got disability years ago but whose ailment has been cured, improved or minimized however, no one has ever gone back to re-evaluate them so they continue to collect disability. There needs to be a healthcare team from the govenment, with specific standards, who evaluates people based on what they CAN do. They need to work with an employment agency and find jobs that these people can do. Perhaps a desk job, or work 2-3 days a week. In reality, some of these people already have 'under the table jobs'. The majority of disable adults under 65 should be re-evaluated atleast annually to ensure they still qualify for the benefits they receive.

The focus of this program is to establish individualized monetary pools that will provide individual social service benefits and help reduce governmental debt. If we eliminate the social services from governmental budgets we reduce these budgets by as much as 65%. By taxing the interest of the individualized monetary pools we can create a renewable source of income that can be used to fund, first the new entrants into the program and then the four levels of Government, City 15%, County 20%, State 25% and Federal 40%. The monetary pool must be of adequate size to sustain the program and ultimately pay for itself within one generation.
Each citizen is given a voucher for one million dollars that they must place in a trust (Citizens Debt Trust or CDT) account in an approved financial institution of their choice. The money in the account is returned upon death. This account draws a minimum of 5% interest which is placed in another trust account (Benefits Trust or BT) which is taxed or divided at specified intervals of time. 50% of the interest is utilized for governmental budgetary requirements as described above. The remainder is divided into the 12 base programs provided by the private sector under strict regulation.

The 12 base programs for every citizen, equal in every respect. (Everyone pays the same premium and receives the same benefits)

11. Benefit Management (Savings) $100 per month $1200 per year
12. Inflation (Savings) $100 per month $1200 per year

All payments to the base accounts are paid till death.

Base programs are the foundation of the system. They provide everyone with equal quality protection. They are provided by the private sector under strict governmental regulation. This enriches the economy by creating sustainable jobs.
By creating individualized accounts everybody has equal access to the limited funds and no individual’s funds impact the availability of funds to anybody else. Therefore there is no longer the first come first served problem, or the “it’s the end of the fiscal year and we are out of resources” problem. NOW, I called them the individual’s funds and that is what they are, government money earmarked for the use of a specific individual if the need arises, the individual applies, and meets the qualifying criteria. Unused funds remain in the individuals’ account drawing interest, in the case of savings programs, until death, at which time all (principal and interest) of the money is returned to the government. In the case of insurance programs, premiums are paid until death.
I talked about eliminating governmental debt. This will not be immediate as the governmental debt will significantly rise by approximately 315 trillion dollars in the initial stage. Think of it as a reboot. We are restarting, say the game of monopoly. All of the players get an initial some, in this case $1,000,000. The difference here is that instead of using the money to trade or purchase property, the money is used to buy and or pay for social service programs. This initial some can NOT be lost, stolen or traded, it is placed in a trust account and only the interest is used. The government’s first task is to choose an interval at which the interest is to be paid. That is also the interval upon which the government will assess their tax upon the interest earned. The remaining interest money will be used for the individual social service programs.
$1,000,000 deposited in a long term (life expectancy is 78.2 years) account should draw 5% without batting an eye, even in today’s economy. That would bring interest of $50,000 per year. Taxed at 50% would yield a payment of $25.000 on the $1,000,000 loan. Everybody is assessed an equal tax and provided the same initial benefits. At the rate of $25,000 per year it would take 40 years to pay off the principal of the loan, everything after that is the profit from the loan. That is $995,000 on just the $25,000 payments over the next 38.2 years of the average life span. Add to this the fact that the government gets its initial $1,000,000 back and the fact that the government gets back all money in the base benefit accounts at the death of the individual and an amount determined by the age at death from the insurance company, the government comes out quite a bit ahead. The government would get back the initial deposit $1,000,000, $25,000 paid for 78.2 years $1,955,000, life insurance for death at 78, $50,000, inflation money principal only $93,840, approximate amount in other accounts $250,000, bringing a total of $3,348,840. $1,393,840 will be returned at death. $1,000,000 goes back into the pool to pay for new entrants and $393,840 divided for the levels of government.
